Leveling up Art

Introduction

Art may not offer much in terms of Discoveries compared to the likes of Archeology or Biology, but it does have one huge advantage over other 6 major Discourses, that is Art Maps are the most efficient and effective way of leveling up your Adventure level.

On my old server, an entire economy was built around one single Art Map (R8 Map of Religious Painting) as players looking to fast track their levels in Adventure converged in the town of Naples to purchase R8 Art Maps off other players for around 300k per map.

Art is also unique in that the fastest way to level up relies entirely on Maps obtained from Archives (for more details on Map reading and Map openeing, refer to my guide).

Level 1 (Marseille, R1 Map of Religious Painting >>> Genoa)
There are numerous +1/+2 Art amulets in the game, that it is very possible to skip this step all together. But for those starting out from level 1 in Art, the fastest way is to travel to Marseille, browse through the Art Books inside the Archive and stock up on an R1 Art Map called Map of Religious Painting.
The Map will ask you to search out for the painting in the church in Genoa.
The Map contains the Discovery Annunciation and once discovered, you can conveniently report it to the Noble living in the estate next to the church at Genoa.

Level 2 (Marseille, R2 Map of Religious Painting >>> Genoa)
This step is exactly the same as the step above, except this time, you are looking for the R2 Art Map. The location of the Discovery is still in Genoa, and the item discovered is Paradise Lost.

Level 3-5 (Naples, R3 Map of Marble Statues of Men >>> Syracuse)
At level 3, you can travel to Naples and browse the Archives for a R3 Art Map, Map of Marble Statues of Men.
The Map location is inside the church at Syracuse which is a short travel away from Naples.
Syracuse also has a Noble estate for you to report your Discovery.

Level 5-7 (Lisbon, London, R5 Map of the Ritual of the Church >>> Bordeaux)
If you are coming from Southern Europe, you can drop by Lisbon and browse the Archives for the R5 Art Map, Map of the Ritual of the Church, if you coming from North Europe, you can go to London and browse for the same Art Map.
The Archives in London will have a higher rate of the R5 Art Map popping than the Archives in Lisbon.
The location of the Map is inside the church in Bordeux, and the Discovery is the Ivory Tapernacle.
The location of the Noble you can report the discovery to is located opposite of the church.

Level 7 (Seville, R7 Map of Religious Painting >>> Genoa)
Level 7 is like revisiting when you first started. The Map location is inside the church in Genoa and you are reporting the to same Noble as you did when you were making Discoveries of level 1 Art Map.
The R7 Art Map can be obtained from Seville and is called Map of Religious Painting.
The Discovery made by that Map is called Annunciation and its painted by Da Vinci.

Level 8-15 (Venice, R8 Map of Religious Painting >>> Naples)
The infamous R8 Art Map. The Map is read in the Archives in Venice, and the discovery of Virgin and Child is made inside the church in Naples.
The Noble who you can report the Discovery to is located beside the church.
This R8 Map can level up your Art skill proficiency all the way up to level 15, it is also the fastest way to level up your Adventure and your Adventure Fame.
After doing a couple of rounds of this Map, you should notice your Adventure Level and Fame jump significantly.

Level 15
Congratualations!!! You have come a very long way. In all honesty there is no real need to level Art up to 15. The highest Art Discovery only requires level 14 in Art, and with a plethora of Art boosting items, you only need to reach level 9 in Art to complete the final Art Discovery with the help of Booster Items.
That said, now that you are a master of the finest works of art, its time to make those Legendary Discoveries.
The likes of Mona Lisa, The Last Supper and Venus awaits your discovery.
